I can't believe that's the only thing that is putting you off!!!! The Maldives is expensive, but cushions on sunbeds or not, it is worth every penny you will pay. There really is no other place like it and the people there are so friendly but you don't get hassled like you would in Goa. You have the choice of booking a water bungalow too, so you can sit on your balcony and then go and paddle your feet in the sea at the bottom of the steps.
To be honest we spent so much time snorkelling and eating the wonderful food we didn't even think about sunbeds.......
Weather in Feb will be good, very warm and not much rain. I went end of March and it was perfect.
Really don't let a little thing like sunbeds put you off, it is one of the most fantastic places in the world! And believe me I have travelled extensively. Look at www.kuramathi.com it's a great island, has a range of accomodations and a brilliant place to stay.
Me and hubby went 6 years ago and I would love to go back. Our island was tiny and it was a totally relaxing holiday. The activities on offer to us were snorkeling, scuba diving. We saw some fantastic marine life and I have memories that will last until the day I die!

The weather when we were there in August was fantastic. Some showers but they came and went after five Min's.

Never been to Goa so I cannot compare for you!
I went about 3 years ago, but things have changed since the BIG Wave, I wouldn't go back, try some where different..
I am a travel agent haven't been personally but the feed back from regular clientele has been nothing but positive bearing in mind 90% are couple and the Maldives are low key relaxing and restful to be honest if you want more than a bit of chilling out diving or snorkeling try elsewhere. Please remember you are on an island so trapped and the food and drink can be dear so go full board or all inc more expensive upfront but cheaper in the long run. As for not cushions on sunbeds hee hee that's funny I am sure the hotel staff will look after your every need happy holidays!
the maldives ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD if its total relaxation you want then its for you, its scorching hot, (dont go monsoon season!) an the beaches are undescribable, probaly the best beaches in the world, ill be going to the maldives again on my honeymoon, its unforgettable GO GO GO GO, go NOWWWW !!!! lol, happy travels!!!
