yes it is. goo dpeople, good food, lots to see. just be careful as a tourist, some will try to con you. but it's really a nice place to be on vacation, or to live in.

Yes, it's nice to visit but it is a poor country so a lot of people will ask you for money or maybe even try to cheat you. Always ask how much something costs first, esp a taxi. Never pay the first price they give you at the souvenir shops. Cairo is crowded and hot in summer and the traffic laws aren't strict so they basically drive where ever they want to. Never seen anything like it LOL. The food is really good at most places I went to but be sure it has a good reputation and don't eat anything from the vendors on the street. They serve the food or drink, then wash the dishes in a bucket on the sidewalk...I'm serious. I like a restaurant called Gad & it has a reputation for being clean. You can find it at Cairo or Alexandria.
