Travel Info What is the right time to visit Egypt from India?Should I opt for a tour package from India or from Cairo? Travel Tips The best time to visit depends on whether you want to come in the peak season or at a quieter, less expensive time. The peak season is from late August to late November, then there is a bit of a burst again from March to May. However even the quiet season is pretty busy. You will never find a historical site without at least a couple of tour buses there. If you choose to come in late May to late August be prepared for the heat.It is a totally different heat to India, for me its easier to handle as it is not at all humid. The winter months are not really so cold but, you need light jumpers and a jacket. It is the north wind that is chilly. So the choice is up to you and what you prefer, crowds and higher prices or the winter or summer months and less crowds. . For me and thousands of others, there is no bad time to come to Egypt. Defiantly do all your booking from home. That way you have some "come back"if there is a problem. After all is added up it is no cheaper booking in Egypt and it can be very risky. Using a tour that offers an inclusive airfare can save you more money. But any well known reputable travel agent in India will be able to offer you 8.to 16 day tours with around 3different variations of itinerary. The same itinerary's are used by the Egyptian operators. Unfortunately,I have met too many victims of some very amateurish tour operators and enterprises set up by those with no former experience. In the last 18mths this has increased dramatically with the use of Internet sites. From these it is impossible to discern who is who. This is not doing Egypt's tourism any favours. There are many smooth talkers, who will promise a Pyramid and deliver a brick. You want this to be a trip you will always remember,in a good way. Source(s): Australian tour guide working in Egypt Other Travel Tips yea go for some tour package if u goin for first time... goin into some unkown country wid info is useless...go for some package..... n u can go to turkey also....take some multi country package..... it will be more fun .. cheers njoy !!@ get a tour package from india to be on the safe side if u are the adventorous sort then land in cairo n plan ur stay there..... may to july right time to visit there dec - april. contact air Egypt its inexpensive and conduct tours. make it a point to visit valley of kings , Aswan , abusimbel , Giza , Alexandria apart from Karo definitely march, april, or may months. during the summer it is really horribly hot and crowded. i know that they do maintainence on the Nile in Luxor, so you can forget about any Nile cruises that depart directly from Luxor. avoid the Fall months because these years ramadan tends to be in the fall. the business hours and kinds of places open will be limited. In Winter, the weather is cool, but this is a busy tourist time. So definitely come in the Spring. Lovely sun and cool breezes. Many places open and accessible. Admittance fees, tickets, and transportation will definitely add up. Joining a tour or getting a package is a great way to save money and see all the sites. Compare costs and sites between the two packages. Cheaper is definitely better, but you want to be sure you going to all of great places! BTW, it helps to bring an empty suitcase for all the fabulous shopping. If you will visit there for more than a week, try to plan a few days in Cairo, and then a Nile cruise. I recommend a cruise that departs from Luxor and ends at Aswan. It is way too expensive to see all the sites separately. As you travel down the Nile, you will definitely start to feel you are moving back in time. The further south you go everything becomes more lush and green...almost as if untouched by time. ok, i will stop rambling now. |
