Going to Egypt...?

Travel Info
what hotels give a really good view of the pyramids?

Travel Tips
The best hotel for views of the pyramids at Giza would be Oberoi Mena House. You will get fantastic room looking directly at the pyramids. The service and atmosphere of the fabulous decor is indeed 5 star.
I have had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and it was a great treat. But I am happy that I didn't have to collect the almost $300 AUST. single, per night tab.
There are cheaper options such as The Pyramids at about $39AUST. It is fine to book online,do it through a website such as Asia Rooms, you will find 5or 6 options that are near the Pyramids. This way you most certainly have comeback.
Personally I would much prefer to stay in Cairo and hire an a/c car and driver for a half day vist.
Other than the Pyramids and the nightly light show you will find little to do in Giza without travelling a long way.
Everything at the little stores is very expensive as you are isolated from choice.
Remember there is so much more to Cairo than just the Giza plateau, and you don't want to waste time travelling everyday.
So I would suggest have a look at some other options.
I have been recommending that people going to Egypt get a copy of The Lonely Planet Guide to Egypt.
It is not paid advertising.
The businesses in it have earnt their right for recommendation and those that are not in it are below the grade.
The latest edition is not even 12mths old.
It also gives you so much information and helpful tips on everything, including recomended prices to pay, you could possibly want to know about Egypt and places to go, stay and eat etc.
Plus really good detailed sections on the Cairo Museum and the Valley of the Kings.
For about $49.90 AUST it is well worth it and will pay for itself 20 times over.
If I can be of any help email me,via my profile email. Source(s): Australian Tour Guide working in Egypt

Other Travel Tips
There's on hotel right next to them. You'll find that most otehr places are obscured by other hotels, mosques etc.

The best view is to actually go and visit them them, not just look out of a hotel window.
The Best is Mena House Oberoi, but Le Meridien has some Pyramids view rooms.
Wouldn't you rather have a view of the Nile??? A great hotel I stayed in one time is the Shepherd's Hotel. It was built when England colonized Egypt and is very grand - but not that expensive. Has a gorgeous view of the Nile, is central to everything. It is actually in the Diplomatic Quarter - very lush and green.
Mena House Oberoi
Siag Pyramids
Cataract Hotel

But all these hotels are far from town, they are at least 1 hour away from everything and at least 2 hours away from the airport.
Loads all the hotels in Giza have a view of the Pyramids the more expensive the hotel the better the view, also choose one higher than 10 storey, do not book a hotel on the int! no Quarantee what you get remember all hotels have 4 sides. what usually hapens same as the nile views. you get booked into a room at say10$ once you are there, ah i want a room witha view of? up goes the price by as much as 4 times in this case 40$, loads and loads of hotels get there and choose your hotel, also the price will be much cheaper than booking via internet or tour opperater, the hotel i use here is the les three pyramids nice refurbished hotel quite close to the pyramids the top floors have fantastic views of the pyramids as I said not all rooms, but the restaurant and bar has, my hotel is in luxor, with fantastic views of Hapshepsut temple but only from the restaurant and the back rooms.Enjoy Egypt, but go prepared,
