Travel Info How did belief in an afterlife affect the culture of ancien Egyptians? Travel Tips To the ancient Egyptians the afterlife was seen as an extension of this life. This life was to them, just a stopping place on the real journey. This is the reason that they put so much effort in ensuring that the dead were well provided for.The tomb would be equipped with all the needs one would wish for, to begin another life in another city or country. There would even be real and symbolic meals left in the tomb along with clothes, furniture and household effects for the deceased to use during the journey and when they arrived. The body and the organs thought to be needed were carefully preserved and mummified so the when the deceased awoke they would have a whole intact and again beautiful, healthy body to serve them in there new life. The image of how they wished to appear in the afterlife would appear in the reliefs and paintings of the tomb. As would images of servants who would "come alive" to serve them there. They lived in fear that after death, during the Judgement of Maat their heart would weigh heavier with sin than Maat's feather. Then they and there Ba and Ka would be doomed to anilation for all time. So they tried to live a good life and to wrong no man or law of the Gods. A lengthy confessional, called the Negative Confession was often placed in the tomb. Others their belief in the afterlife created the culture hence all the pyramids tombs that contained all the body parts in canopsis jars all that work to build the tombs for the surcofolis the Pyramids where built for the pharaos after life, ..www.myegypt.co.uk/ it affect them by 100%,you can say that the ancient Egyptian living their present life in preparation mode for the after life. they are thinking of save their bodies, bury their stuffs with them when dying, building great graves, building ships to transport the dead to the after life....etc that they will collect infront of there god and put there wight the heart and matt's feather(the god) and then tell the good thing they done and bad things they hadn't done if the feather was heavy then they say the truth and to live happy end but if the heart was heavier that mean they r liears and go to be killed and some pharoes put a tomb on the door of there houses so when they go to work they see it and say this the end of my live so ishal do good things and phaores left some food, cloth, furntecher and gold in there tomd to there second life hope i helped u god bless u |
