during ramadan there's the messa7arati, a guy that wakes people up to have so7oor, the last meal before they start fasting from daybreak to sunset

then you have the me3adadeya, women whose job is to yell and cry out loud when someone dies

i don't know if you have those in the US, there are also the shoe shiners, they walk around with a wooden box and shine your shoes in the street, in coffee shops

Others
In Egypt today there are many jobs that have been phased out in America years ago. For example, bathroom attendents. Every bathroom in Egypt has one. Also, ushers at movie theaters. Also in Egypt there is someone to pump the gas for you at every gas station, as well as someone who will check you oil and put air in your tires. We do most of this ourselves in the USA now, but I remember back when we did not have to pump our own gas. But the bathroom attendents, I don't ever remember having these in the states except at very fancy expensive clubs or hotels. Actually this is the only thing about going to Egypt that irritates me. I kind of like to be alone in the bathroom.
