What kind of adapter/converter should i take to Cairo that is safe for a laptop?

Travel Info
I am going to Cairo, Egypt and I need to bring phone charger, camera charger, laptop, hairdryer and various other electronics. Is their a converter/adapter that will work with all of my electronics and is safe from burnouts? And if so how should I use it with a 100-240V laptop? Any other info on adapters/converters for Egypt would be great!

Travel Tips
For laptops and other electronics, you should only need a plug adapter. Plug type B.

You can even bring a power surge protector from home and use the plug adapter on that, and then plug your laptop into the protector.

You definitely need two kinds of power coverters...low watt for small electronics and appliances...and then high watt for things like a hairdryer or curling iron.

Since you are only going to be there for 1 month, it may be more economical to purchase an all-in-one converter kit.

If you really wanna play it safe, use color stickers to identify which items go with which converters. It is anal retentive...but I had the unfortunate experience of burning out my favorite curling iron bc I carelessly used the wrong converter!

Best of luck!!!

You can go to Radio Shack, Circuit City or Best Buy and ask for a foreign currency adapter. They have a list there of which adapters are used in which country. However, for your hair dryer (or any high voltage appliance that produces heat) you will need a voltage convertor. These cost a little more but don't attempt to use your hair dryer without one. Your laptop and camera and cell phone charger will work just fine with the adapter plug. Egypt uses a plug similar to what is used in many European countries. For a little more money you can invest in a universal adapter kit which is actually 4 plugs in one. I got mine at Circuit City for about $27.00.
in Cairo you can use your 220~240 volt 50Hz adaptors,
make sure that the plugs are the 2 pin type
