Can you mail currency (gift card/credit card) from the USA to Cairo, Egypt? |
Travel Info I have a family member who is studying abroad in Cairo, Egypt this year and her birthday is coming up. I wanted to mail her a gift card/credti card so she can get what she wants/needs. Am I allowed to mail currency to Cairo, Egypt? I heard there are prohibitions that do not allow currency to be imported into Egypt. It would only be for about $25 or so. If anyone knows, please advise. Thanks. Travel Tips Im an egyptian but i live abroad, and i was told by several banks, both here and there, NEVER to send currency or credit to Egypt, as even if igot lucky and it didnt get lost, it would take very very long time (between a month and 3 months) for a bank in Egypt to release it, the best thing is Western Union. Others do not send criedit card or money by mail u can send it by westren union or any type of money trasfer Yes, you can, but you are taking a chance of the currency or credit card getting in the wrong hands and they could run up quite a bill for you. Do not send them. I am resident here now from the uk I have no problem money in or out, you can send the card recorded delivery make sure its a visa. and do not send the pin with it but you have to activate it in country of origine she can not do it from here. myegypt.co.uk |
