How far is it from the port in Alexandria, Egypt to the train station? |
Travel Info I am not sure how many cruise ship ports there are in Alexandria but need an idea of how far it is to the train station (want to catch the "fast train" to Cairo) - How long to walk? Would I want to walk? How much for a cab to get there? Any information would be appreciated. Travel Tips There is one cruise port in Alexandria. By taxi it is five minutes from the port to the main train station. It costs about ten Egyptian pounds=about one and a half dollars.You may not like to walk, the traffic is heavy. The fast train to Cairo takes from the main station 2hours and twenty minutes. The ticket costs 40 Egyptian pounds first class. It leaves alexandria at 8 am, 2pm, 7pm. There are other trains in between. For them it takes from 2hours and 30 minutes till three hours maximum. Have Egyptian money ready to buy the train ticket. Alexandria is nice to visit too, half a day will show you enough. Good luck. Others not so far , about 20 minutes , then u can catch the train it takes about 2:30 hours to be in Cairo by train Well, touring Alexandria from the west (port) to the east (train station) will take about 30-45 minutes by cab, you can pay 20 Egyptian Pounds (about 5 dollars). If you want my advice you shouldn't do that in 1 day, just enjoy the day in Alexandria, and the next day go to the train station to catch Cairo's train. by the way you can find a train to Cairo any time from 6 am until 12 am (18 hours/day). It's 30 min. max. by car. |
