yes the marriage will be recognized in egypt. If you want it recognized in the USA then you have to get a translation of the marriage license and special stamps on it and then if i remember right get it notarized at the american embassy. I got married there 3 years ago.
I dont think there is a way to find out someone living in the USA got married in Egypt. Only if you tell people.

1. If the marriage takes place in the USA it will be recognized i Egypt. If it takes place in Egypt it will need to be translated to be recognized in the USA. However you should be aware that there are basically two types of marriage in Egypt legal and orfi. Make sure you know which kind you are getting. If it's an Orfi I would be highly supicious. Some men perform orfi marriages behind their wives backs making it a "secret" marriage.

2. As far as I know there is no way to tell if someone is already married but you may want to contact the US embassy in Cairo to ask them if they know of anyway to find out this information.
If the proper documents are produced and the marriage is carried out in a legal manner then it will be recognised as a legal valid marriage by the authorities.
But the woman will not automatically be given permanent residency.
If the person is an Egyptian citizen and married to an American citizen, then you would be able to find out.
If they were both Egyptian citizens then it will be much more difficult.
Egyptian law allows a man to be married to more than once.
If these question are regarding yourself then i would question why you have to resort to asking for answers on a site such as this!
If you have any doubt at all about any honesty factors.
Or that there may be things about a prospective partner that you do not know. Then go no further.
Demand that you be given proof and take any inability to produce documents proving there has been no former marriage as a sign of guilt.
