Travel Info Are there any more Eygptian Pyramids still to be found? Travel Tips As i understand it the theoretical answer is yes, while the first pyramids were built completely of stone, later and subsequent pyramids were built with a mud core and stone covering . The stone outer casing was removed to be reused elsewhere so allowing the inner mud brick to gradually erode and become smaller, After a time and with sand covering the remains yes the pyramid was lost. I believe there are thought to have been several pyramids lost.in this way. However while i am pretty sure that the essential facts here are correct, there are many others here who regularly contribute who are far more knowledgeable on this subject than i and hopefully someone like sisterblue will also answer you and she i am sure will have the definitive answer edit there you go told she would have the better answer, ohh and if your academic year is the same as ours i guess you finishing off your dissertation and maybe taking final exams. good luck though its clear you wont need it. What a stupid question, if there are any to be "found" in this day and age, the boffins who find them would have done so by now.......................they are not hard to miss really are they! Where do you think they may have hidden them? There are probably several tombs and burial sites yet to come to light, but I don't think there will be any undiscovered pyramids,at least not of the sort of size that are currently big tourist attractions in Egypt. The pyramids are not egyptian, but alien, therefore the question is will any more alien pyramids be found? |
