Anyone been to Ramla in Luxor area of Egypt?

Travel Info
We are thinking of renting an apartment on the banks of the Nile in Ramla, Luxor, includes boat and captain for trips on the Nile, if anyone's been to this apartment and has any comments, or any general info on area or anything else would be great. Thanks

Travel Tips
If the apartment is the one on www.traditionalegypt.co.uk (you don't say which apartment in Ramla, Luxor you meant!) then, yes we went there a few weeks ago and it was fantastic! The pics don't really show how big the apartment is inside. The people are really friendly and we used the shop downstairs daily - they were great too. Mohammed who drives the nile boat that comes with the apartment (it's motorised) can also sail a felucca, and he told us whenever there was enough wind so we didn't miss the chance (we loved these sailing trips and did a few of them. He found us good horses and camels and was available whenever we wanted for other sorts of trips. Source(s): Do I assume that you were indeed talking about the traditional egypt apartment?

No I don't own the flat but I did build the website for it. That's why I noticed that the rooms looked bigger in real life than in the photos - I had edited the original photos.

Myself and my husband were the first visitors apart from the owners family, so at the present time you won't find a more independent review. We loved it and would are recommending it to all of our friends.
Other Travel Tips
i have not seen this apartment or know its exact location, but i do know luxor well. the place the apartment seems to be is on the west bank of the Nile. This is a quieter area than the east bank where most of the hotels are. the flat looks to be from the photos on the web site a typical egyptian property.and i am guessing it is in a small village. i suggest you ask about proximity to shops and restaurants. you are unlikely to want to cook much as restaurants are very cheap out there and shopping is not quite the same as it is in england or america. if you are going in the summer months you will need to be certain you have air conditioning that is efficient as with out you will be very uncomfortable. Also i would ask about cost to go use the movenpic pool. which is on the other side of the nile. also availability/cost of taxis, you will need one. to get to the west bank if there is no wind. luxor is a lovely place for a holiday and i would reccomend it, if you want to ask any more please mail me
it seems you are the owner of the flat in ? no one is sure whether its owned by the english Lady or on permanent rent, i see one room has air condition just put in, and answering your own question, tut, tut, will not do any good trying to advertise on here, I know I tried it set me back months, first as soon as yahoo twig, you will be blacklisted from the yahoo search engines, site altogether, best way is do what i found out, answer a question saying I found this web site usefull, or similar also tell the truth about the place do's and don'ts, it goes against the grain when people find out its not what you say it is, if people want to come to egypt they will come and if they like they will recommend as do a lot of the ones that come here to my place,I recommend you look at this site for flats.etc
