Does anyone know if its ok to take my hairdryer (i only ask because i went to cuba and you couldn't take electrical goods) and also do i just take the adapter with 2 pins like for everywhere else?

u can take ur hairdryer with u and bring along an electric voltage converter. In Egypt we use 220 V. So if ur electric equipments are 110 V, u will need a 110 to 220 adapter. U can buy one from Egypt, which will probably be a lot cheaper. I bought one from Egypt for 25 EGP (less than $5). It is ok to take any electric goods with u to Egypt, no problem with that!

Why go to Egypt in the first place? You are so gonna regret it, I know I did.
it is ok, you can bring that electrical goods. because the airport policemen will not forbid you from bring it, but for sure they will ask you about that when scanning it.
about the adapter with 2 pins, that is the suitable one, because they didnt use 3 pins here. it(2 pins) really give me a headache before this because in malaysia we use 3 pins a lots and most of my electricals goods that i've brought here were truly 3 pins.

It is OK to take it with you. voltage is 220. Two round pins are used. There is no time to buy from Egypt as tourists have a full day sightseeing and visiting monuments, let alone the fact that a foreigner you will not know where to find bargains.
Do not worry about scanning, I travel a lot and if the things are in your suitcase there is no problem. Even if you carry it in your handbag they know what is OK and what is not OK. Good luck.

take egypt as it comes its a fantastic place, take no notice of being regretfull. most people that come love it here as i do and i am from the uk lived here 2 years,
