What name does "el rababa" have in English? |
Travel Info What name does "el rababa" have in English? Travel Tips According to Al-Mawrid Arabic-English dictionary, it means rebec or rebeck. Others I believe this musical instrument exists in Egypt only, so it doesn't have an English name. Maybe you should just say "al rababa". In the same way you say "a'oud" because a'oud doesn't exist in English. I am not sure about al rababa but I am sure about al a'oud. the bananana man, that has no sound effect seeing as ur asking about the meaning of my name :) :D I should be able to provide u with the right info. In English, it can be referred to as rababa, but there is actually an English word to it "rebec" which is more accurate, however, not very commonly used. Some would just call it a mediterranean musical insturment not actually knowing the correct name to it because it is not a known muscial insturment in Western countries. ana aal rababa baghani I would say something different and I'm not sure of it, but for anyone interested can search in the topic. It's a Pharaonic instrument found on the old drawings of the ancient Egyptians like many other instruments IT's similar to a handmade violin, it's used mainly in upper egypt. It has special type of harmony. It can sound like crying. It's famous in egyptian folklore. |
