Why do you need a visa in Egypt?

You can travel to Egypt without a visa. You can stay in the Sharm area you do not need a visa. If you go any where else a visa is required. Can anybody explain the actual reason for this? There are no territorries as far as understand. The only reason that leaves: is just a way to make a little more money. If anyone can supply the real reason I would be really grateful, even if the answer is money.

yes the reason is of course to boost the income of the country and why not, Egypt's economy is boosted by tourism. it is not to check on your status as this is done by filling in the entry form which is required whether you have a visa or not.
However sharm and the holiday destinations in Sinai are competing with other destinations in Europe that do not need a visa so in order to be competitive there is no visa for this area as long as you do not leave this area and stay no longer than 14 days.

Mostly all countried need a visa, its not money issue, lebanon needs a visa also to enter,

you tell me why do i need to stand in a 2 miles line to get a visa to be able to enter the US or the UK or any other country for that matter?!

if u travel with group of people as tourists,u don't need visa to sharm el sheikh,but if u will go by urself u will need visa
