How much will I spend in Cairo, Egypt?

Traveling to Cairo this August. Already dropped a grand on my flight. Over a ten day period, how much money can I expect to spend? Still need to reserve lodging, want to visit the Pyramids, museum and the bazaar.

just returned from 1 week in cairo.exchange is cheapest at bank here. approx .20 to egyptian pound.everything dirt cheap.stayed at nile hilton $100 nite.treated like movie star.forget taxis,very cheap,very dirty ,no air.got private drivers w/mercedes,spend all day w you,take you to destination ,wait in car for you,take you to next place, wait,etc.6 to 7 hrs and cost apprx $30. prvate guides @at sites some with horses,some with camels,approx$20 for2-3 hours. you have to bargain.everyone has hand out.say NO be firm.alcohol very costly. beer not cheap but egyptian beer reasonable and good.everything cheap BUT NOT GOLD.admissions to sites and museums, cheap.incredible place for the money.do homework before you go. try www.touregypt.net

but i do not know where he got the other prices from a taxi for the day is 450le never mind a merc,the pyramids are 120le plus the entrance to see the Pharanic boat and going into tomb, the musium is another 120le plus the mummy room another 40le. the kanakallili souk is of course free but do it in the evening for a better experiance, also a visit to the Mosques is a must, then you have to go to see the belly dancing plus a meal at the Fish Market Restaurant on the Nile to round the day off, , do not resurve your hotel as its cheaper to walk in and there are loads of good 4/5 star hotels in Cairo and you may not want to stay for 10 days as Cairo is ok for maybe 2 days,

Well I went to Egypt in 2005 and I was there for 6 months and I spent a total of $1,000 plus another $900 for my airline ticket. I stayed in the residential area(I am married to an Egyptian), we rented a flat(paid rent, water, trash, electric, food) and I also came back to the USA with 2 big bags full of gifts from Egypt. I went shopping a lot, traveled to Alexandria, and I gave out a lot of Egyptian pounds to some little children at the zoo. I hope you go and have a great time, you will love it!!!!
I went back to Egypt in 2006 and stayed for another 6 months, I only took $600 with me that time, and I came back to USA with $125 :)))))
pshhh alot ,if your a type of person that likes to buy lots of stuff.. or go places which cost some money... and for the americans... they would most likely get riped off.. hahha i've actually seen it before.. and man.. he got riped off.
