Help Egypt Holiday in 10 days loads of questions!!?

Travel Info
Am off to egypt with my fella on 16 June, never been before going to Sharm staying AI in Domina Coral Bay at the Sultan... Can i do a day trip by coach to the pyramids/cairo on my own safely?? How much should i expect to pay??
Have heard about people trading stuff rather than buying is this true?
Should i get a phrase book before going?? Or is english spoken enough that i'll get by?
I read somewhere that there is a public holiday on the 18th is this true? and is this a day to avoid going anywhere?
Plus what shall i take?? other than normal holiday stuff...

Thanks All!

Travel Tips
Many questions mixed together, but it's OK I can understand the situation.
1- Sharm is nice. Domina is a large resort and Sultan was the best of it. Domina is not in Neama bay and you should visit Neama bay at least once. It's few minutes by taxi from Domina.
2- You can make a day trip to Cairo and visit the Pyramids, but it should be organised by a company and don't make it by yourself or just a free tour leader. When you do it let it be overnight specially if you have kids, so they can rest. Both will be available depend on the company and date. Expect to pay like 100$ but it really depends on many details.
3- I don't know what kind of (stuff) you mean and I advise you to deal only in legal activities whatever you mean. In case you don't need problems or lost anything. (remember this advise please)
4- English is widly spoken and you don't need a book for Sharm and Cairo you should have a tour guide.
5- I don't know about that public holiday in 18th of June, but in case there will be, it doesn't affect you anyway.
6- You should take all kinds of sun protection, skin protection, light clothes, something for headache.

My special advice keep away from direct sun, drink water always, don't drink much alcoholics, eat more salt in your food, keep it's level high in your blood and if you like to have new friends select only the well cultured and educated friends.
Finally enjoy every moment while you are in Egypt there are millions who wish to be there.
Welcome and good luck

Go on the daytrip organised by your hotel - nearly all of them have an approved operator they use. I don't know how much it'll cost but I wouldn't recommend trading things!

Don't worry about a phrase book, English is pretty widely understood and just take normal holiday stuff, bear in mind it does get cold at night though so something warmish would be handy for the late nights by the bar......!
We get an enormous amount of cryptosporidium complaints from Sharm el Skeik. The hotels salad bars and swimming pools are best avoided unless you have a cast iron constitution or want to spend the next 3 weeks on the lav. Don't even drink their bottled water either unless its imported. They have a despicable hygiene record and they don't use toilet roll. Proprietory anti diarrhoea tablets are futile and are just ejected with your nippy-fizzy brown water. You will need ant-Malaria tablets but dont take too many as they make you blind, and it is wise to get yellow fever , typhoid, malaria, beri-beri injections before you go. Even with these injections people are still coming down with these horrendous complaints. My best advice is to keep your stay short and only eat food which has been oven roasted and served hot or food which is served piping hot from a microwave or pan. Tapeworm, bilharzia and elaphantiasis are other frequent problems.

Calm down , you are going on holiday not for a Military Services
you can do the trip coach , but you should get up early to reach pyramids early , I recommend that any open visit ( in the open-aired places ) should be done in the morning or after 5 : 00 pm just to avoid the heat of the midday .
the trip will not cost so much , and I prefer to travel by plane as it also will not cost so much ( I do not know the fare exactly )
I have no idea about trading stuff
there is no holiday at the 18th , and even it is a holiday it would be better as there will be less traffic , you can do anything at any day
English is widely spoken , you needn't phrases book though it will be interesting
No thing special is required , except for an umbrella.

Have been to Egypt 8 times and never caught any of the above diseases. The worse thing about Egypt is the way the people hassle you to buy things. If you do not want to buy anything then just do not let them get you in to conversation. I just keep saying No and they quickly move on to the next person. Check that the bottled water has its seal intact as some people re fill bottles with their tap water and sell it as new.

You can get an organised trip to the Pyramids but you must not travel on your own as a woman because you will get a lot of hassle.

English is spoken by almost everybody. The cost of living is very cheap but I have not heard of trading things. Be careful of people engaging you in talk as a lot of them are scammers Egypt is lovely as long as you know a few things. If hiring a taxi or organising a trip always get the price agreed before you set off.

Remember to take 拢10 note each to get your Visa at the airport when you arrive.

Have a lovely trip.
