Is there pyramids at LUXOR and if so can you visit them? |
Travel Info Is there pyramids at LUXOR and if so can you visit them? Travel Tips The major pyramids are located at Giza, just on the outskirts of Cairo. Luxor, which is far more interesting is located 419 miles away, you can fly, bus, drive or go by train, overnight is best. When booking a trip to Luxor, there are several other nearby attractions which should be visited. Plan to spend a few days up there so you can take it all in. http://www.luxorguide.com/ Others i thought they were up near cairo - out in the desert tho - and yes u can visit them. no there are no pyramids in luxor except for two very little ones only about 2 meters high in the valley of the workers. the pyramids are mostly near Cairo. The tombs are in luxor and they are amazing also many temples. to get to cairo form luxor you can take a night train about 10 hours or a flight about 1 hour There aren't pyramids in Luxor. But, there are lots of other fantastic temples and archeological sites to visit. The Temples of Luxor and Karnak are a must see, as are the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. You can also see a famous family business that makes alabaster carvings for tourists (Morssey's). Plan to spend several days in Luxor, as it is loaded with things to do. I think the best way to get to Luxor from Cairo is to fly. Flights on Egypt Air are easy to get and are cheap. While the overnight train is also an option, it takes all night and is actually more expensive than most of the 1 hour flights on Egypt Air. Also note that when in Luxor, traveling to sites such as Valley of the Kings and Queens requires traveling by Police Convoy. You should contact a tour guide to take you to these sites to ensure that you don't get in trouble with the police. Tourists are not allowed to travel these roads at just anytime of the day. Be sure to get more information on this before you plan your trip to Luxor. I just got back from an Egyptian Vacation!! yes three in der el madina (village of the workers) 3 mitre high 4 mitre wide, they are not certain as to the use of them they where bult in the 18 dynasty go to http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/... one of the pyramids can be just about seen to the top of the path,in the first picture, this is also a good web site for all of egypt, we also have just come back and saw most of the sites with the following company, www.myegypt.co.uk |
