Travel Info Is it worth changing British Pounds to US dollars before going to Egypt? Travel Tips NOO this is wrong Change when you arrive to Egypt from sterlings to Egyptian pounds. Everyday you can change from any 5 star hotel or any bank. The exchange rate in Egypt is better. Others yes as you get more dollars at the moment with a good exchange rate. No !! Dont Do That! Na Uh! Nooo Way Hooozay!! Niche! Nay! Nahee! Non! Na Man! Swoosh 2 Points! yes Yes - the Egyptians will happily accept US Dollars and the exchange rate is really good at the moment too. Yes the 'greenback' is still preferred over any other currency including the local currency ! i would say don't change any british pounds into us dollars. i did it last year and didn't end up using them so i changed the us dollars into egyptian pounds while i was out there. just take egyptian pounds and euros if anything. although when i eventually go again i'll only take egyptian and british money because you can always get money exchanged up out there. enjoy your holiday. egypt is fantastic |
