Salaries of teachers in Egypt?

I have been teaching English to adults for the past 3 years in various institutions and I have a teaching certificate from Cambridge. The salary range is between 3000-5000 for a 15-hour week. The problem is that most of my work is part time, which means that I never actually get to work this number of hours.

A friend advised me to apply at schools (American or IG section), but I have no idea what the salaries are like in this field.

My question is: Is it too much to put 3500 L.E. as an expected salary on the application?

I work in a school in Egypt (admin), and I have friends who are teachers in other schools and I know for sure that teachers' salaries are by far lower than what you mention, especially if you are locally hired. Some international schools give different privileges to teachers hired from abroad and that's the best chance you can get.
My advise is to keep your current trend of work if you can already make as much money as you mention.

but when I'm looking for a job I put my expected salary according to my qualifications, I don't care about the place it self

i think if applied at school in the American or IG section,the salary is not that low,3500 is a bit high,it'll be between 2000 and 2500 maximum..i think
3500 le a week or month??? that sounds about right for a month at a higher end school....you can check out the British school, in Rehab city...there are some pretty good paying jobs, relative to the cost of living there. But youre not gonna find 3500 le a week...and if you do let me know and Ill go back.. ;)
At one school I was offered 2000 LE, another 3000, and one school I asked for 4000 LE and they agreed. Salaries will vary depending on the school's standards.
well in normal schools some professional teachers takes from 500-1000 l.E but i don't know what about American & IG Sorry
