Do you need a visa to visit Egypt?

We are travelling in 3 weeks but Have booked flight & hotel seperately rather than a package deal (saved 拢700!!!). Do we need a visa ??

as you have already been told yes,if you have a UK passport. but not if you are only visiting the Sinai peninsula i.e. sharm el shiek. If you are going there for no more than 2 weeks and you are not leaving the peninsular then you do not need a visa. However if you are going anywhere else you need to take around 拢10 each in cash to pay for your visa and buy it at one of the small booths as you enter the airport. You will be given 2 small stamps stick them on a clean page in your passport and go to passport control, with your tourist card (You will get it on the plane) where they will stamp you in.
take some high factor suncream its really hot out there now, have fun.
Edit dont try and buy in england now you may not get it back in time. it only takes a short itme to queue for the visa and you will still be through before your cases. also costs about 拢25-30 in england.

As the first answer said, you get at the airport. Have fun. If you are going to Luxor you should take a hot air balloon ride over the plain of Thebes. It is wonderful.
Yes, you need a visa.
You can get the visa at the airport in Egypt. It is cheaper this way, but it is more time consuming. If you get it in the airport, you will have to go out of the check line to get in the visa line, and then you will have to get in the check line again, very very time consuming. I found it best to get my visa before I left to go to Egypt, at least that way I know it is already with me and I just go through check point and I am on my way. Have a great time!!!!
yes unless your staying in the sharmel shiek region. then you will need one to visit anywhere outside there. you can get one at the airports price when i went was approx 10 pounds
