Travel Info I am from south africa and would like to visit egypt for a week, would i need a visa?? Travel Tips Yes. I've just returned from a visit. If you're booking through a travel agent, ask him/her to organise it for you. It takes two weeks at most...I live in Cape Town and my passport had to go to Pretoria and back for stamping...but it wasn't a problem at all. Remember to take passport-size photos, too. Others One to 3 Month Visas can be purchased on arrival at the Airport from most countries. Approx. $15 US for a one month Visa. You will need to have your money ready to go to the Bank on arrival. They will sell you two stamps to place in your passport on a blank page before going through customs. Yes you need a visa. You either get it from the Egyptian consulate near you or at the Cairo airport on arrival.
