EGYPT questions?

Travel Info
We are going to Egypt (Sharm el sheik) in 5 weeks, we have had the necessary injections, but can anyone please tell me if its a bad place for mosquitos, and what is the best way of preventing / treating them. Also, we are getting confused about the currency there, what does anyone advise, they seem to use every type of coin...
Lastly, how will we cope with the heat, we go 29th July.. Thanks.

sharm is wonderful and i really never had a problem with mosquitos.....i had all my shots as well and have returned several times felling as though i never needed the shots in the first place. I would say if you were going in an area as cairo or the smaller villages the shots would be beneficial.....but i am sure there is a reason the CDC says to get them....
about the money.....the best way i remember is 5 of their pounds is like one of our dollars.....change your money.....dont give them USA money.....they will take advantage of that.....and its all written on the money.....one pound...5 pounds etc.....50 cents and 25 cents are bills as well called piasters.....so you have 50 piasters and the bills are somewhat smaller and then you have 25 piaster and the rest are in coin......its easy once you do it a few time....remember to barter for everything....they expect it and always start off high with their prices....especially if you are from USA.....the refer to us as walking pocketbooks
have fun.....i love egypt

When your there you'll soon aclimatise to the heat. Its the Russians that will do your head in.
we took Egyptian money. and we had no problems when we went with mosquito's. don't leave your air con on over night as it cools your body down too much and it can make you ill. drink lots of bottled water and jump in the pool to cool down, that's all you can do for the heat I'm afraid.
Okies went there 2 years ago mosquitos not a problem ! heat well its hot 24/7 went swimming at 7.30am and the water was still warm ! now u might get tummy trouble and the sh*ts ! so take some tummy meds just in case ! now the money they love the pound euro and the dollar ! we had to use english money to get in the country
Mosquitoes appear at night near gardens. There is no malaria in Egypt. Use a mosquito repellent if you are near a garden. In air conditioned hotels, restaurants they do not exist.
The currency used is the Egyptian pound. A dollar is equivalent to 5.69 Egyptian pounds. You can exchange money easily at your hotel or a t exchange offices.
This time of the year it is hot. If you swim or dive you will not feel it. All closed places have air conditioning like hotels, restaurants, shops etc. Enjoy it.
