Travel Info If I went to Egypt, would I be allowed to climb the pyramids? Travel Tips Climbing the pyramid is illegal. It is not permitted. You can climb several steps of the largest and most perfect pyramid, that is to say the Cheops pyramid. when you do you can reach the opening of the pyramid. With an optional ticket that costs 100 Egyptian pounds you can enter inside and go through a narrow corridor till you reach the chamber where the King was buried. If you don't buy that ticket you can only climb to the door and have a quick look to what is inside. The second pyramid of Chefren costs 20 Egyptian pounds to enter. The third one is currently closed. Others yes ... I went in 1979 and it was very nice and beautiful ... We got to walk up the pyramid from inside ... It was very narrow and one way up and one way down yes,but it's soo risky,you might fall and break your neck..so be carefull yes up to a limited height which is the level of entrance.
