However, it's a tradition reigning in rural and poor places, where ignorance and extremism are prevalent. Recently, the "mofti" who is the highest religious authority in the state entitled to issue Islamic orders, has issued a "fatwa" stating that female circumcision is against religion. He got attacked for his opinion / order, because A LOTTTTTTTTTTT of people here in Egypt are truly doing their best on many aspects to pull Egypt to the era of darkness and ignorance. Others i did not know females could be circumcised 69%, I believe. Circumcision is the procedure that cuts some or all of the foreskin (prepuce) from the penis. What you mean is probably female genital cutting (female genital mutilation). That's the excision or tissue removal of any part of the female genitalia for cultural, religious or other non-medical reasons. I don't have any percentage to give you, though. |
