Is it possible to bring Live-in Nannies from Egypt? Can you get visas for them easily? |
Travel Info Is it possible to bring Live-in Nannies from Egypt? Can you get visas for them easily? Travel Tips It is prohibbited by law to issue visas for what is defined in law by low skill work force (Fe2at donya)... As I've seen on a previous answer most foreign Nannies working in Egypt are either staying illegaly without visas or under false pretexts. Foreigners visiting Egypt though are allowed to bring along their domestic help for their duration of stay legally but they have to sign an affidavit taking responsibiltiy for keeping them in their company and not leaving the country without them. Diplomatic staff are also accorded some exemptions as stipulated by the Vienna treaty. Others yes it is possible and the Nanny need a visa, ask the Egyptian embassy in your country well, the answer is a bit more complicated. Yes, a lot of people get foreign nannies, but they usually do so by twisting the laws a little. It is hard to get a work permit for a foreigner or permanent residency if he/she is not working for a company. So what most people do is get them on a tourist visa and they keep renewing that visa every 3 months. Others simply put the maid on the pay roll of a company and hence are able to get her residency status. Getting the visa to egypt in general is easy cause egypt wants foreign tourists, but authorities keep an eye on such nationalities such as phillipinies, nigeria etc. My advice to you is to get the visa via the egyptian consulate, instead of risking getting it from the airport. It really boils down to her current nationality. There are a lot of foreign mais and servants here, so hiring one is no big deal. Hmm? You said "from" Egypt, not "to" Egypt. Right? Someone is getting it wrong I believe. It's either me or the second and third answerers. If you mean "from" Egypt, then the answer is sadly "Yes, many little girls from Egypt would be willing to travel and work as live-in nannies. Don't do it please. Don't take a little girl from her family." |
