Once you get to El Salvador yes. Crossing Mexico, whcih can take up to 3 days driving can be extremely dangerous as thieves are rampant and Cops are ruthless individuals. Guatemala is fairly safe but robberies are very common in the borders with Mexico and El Salvador.
