Does anyone know about some kind of 1 day or half day tour of wine fields around Florence?

Travel Info
I've visited a lot of tour pages, and they offer what we want, but its too expensive or what they offer its not what we are looking for, see i want to take my mother (its her dream) to visit the wine fields, and pretty much walk around them, some kind of relaxing tour, maybe learn how wine is made, that kind of stuff, im open to even use public transportation ot get to it, thanx!

Travel Tips
you definitely don't want to go on an expensive tour and you don't need to! a friend and i one day hopped a bus from florence to greve in chianti and spent the day walking through vineyards. you can also do wine tasting as well as tasting of olive oil, breads, and salamis and other meats. it wasn't expensive at all. we may have spent $50 between the two of us, if that. you can read more about it here:

have fun!

i dont know if this will help at all. but my parents went and just drove through the vineyards (obviously you'll have to research as to where they are), some vineyards are open to public and you will be able to wander in and go the their wine shop etc.

also, you can book appointments at some vineyards to let them know you are coming, and you can just have a look round yourself.
most well known vineyards have a website, and you just need to email and ask if you can visit.

good luck!
We did this tour 2 years ago and loved it. Small 8 passenger vehicle, english speaking tour guide, lunch was included and it was the best lunch we had on the trip. You visited 2 vineyards and learned quite a bit. Totally worth the price.

I just got back from my honeymoon in Italy and while we were at our stop in Florence we took a bus (your hotel should be able to tell you where the specific location is) to Tuscany (specifically Greve in Chianti). It's about a 50 minute ride and the bus stop leaves you in the heart of the small town.. you can ask almost anyone in town about the tours and they are friendly and will tell you where you can buy tickets...we ended up a real authentic vineyard where like a little old grandma came out to feed us snacks and the children of the house were getting home from school... Great Experience and you should definitely do it! Good Luck!
