Did u like Florence? |
Travel Info yes...Florence the renaissance city in Italy... Travel Tips Like? Hmph... No, 'like' doesn't cut it... We LOVED Florence. I had a leg up though... I speak Italian fluently, so when we went, I didn't get scammed in the market, and made LOTS of friends to show us around. Others Unfortunately, I've never been to Florence. I spent 6 months in Italy, but never got there. It has always looked so beautiful and romantic, and there's so much art and architecture there I would like to see, that I hope I will get to visit one day! no..i hate florence....i'd like siena yes i like florence.....molto Whilst Florence sports a full host of magnificent museums and gallery's, including the the home of Michaelangelo's David - practically worth the trip alone for - the town is far from as idylic as I pictured it to be: the town is a little grubby and a little industrial in parts, the food is not up to the standards I expected, having been to Bologna - where it is fantastic and in the neighbourhood where I stayed, behind the train station, there were a number of transgender sex workers hanging around the street corners of an evening. My favourite local dish is the aubergine/eggplant with mozzarella and parmesan. They are also better know for their meat than some other Italian towns. Stay off the beaten track to find the best quality meals, though. First hand experience. Florence is wonderful. I lived in Rome for 5 years and would often travel there for work. It is a really small and beautiful city, full of great things to see and so. The 'Blue Guide' to Florence is a really good resource, there is also an excellent tour company called 'Walks of Florence' if you want to get a feel for the city. have a great trip! |
