Travel Info Anyone know how far is Frankfurt Airport (hanh) ryanair to Mainz? Travel Tips The 'Frankfurt' Hahn Airport is about an hour by car from Mainz. The Hahn Airport was a US Airbase. After the Americans left it was turned into a regional airport. The airport is out in the middle of the country. Check out the website(In English) for more info: www.hahn-airport.de Not sure what a bus ticket to Mainz would cost. The Hahn(pronounced 'HAann') airport is not on the main transportation lines. Depending on where you are flying from and going to in Germany you might be better off flying into the Main Frankfurt Airport. Yes, at Hahn you can pay maybe 5 bucks for a plane ticket, but when you add in airports 'Fees', your bus&train tickets then the costs add up. Now at the Hahn airport rental cars are available - check the website. So if you get a good deal on a rental car and plan on driving around Germany you will do OK money wise. Except of course for the price of gas in Europe. Also check hotels in the Mainz and Frankfurt areas. Some of them may offer a free shuttle service(or cheaper) to the Hahn airport. |
