What should I pack for a semester abroad???!? |
Travel Info I will be studying for a semester abroad in Ireland come Spring 2007. I know it is limited space for how much I can bring, and I will be buying alot there so I know I cant bring much.......but does anyone have advice on what the essentials are to bring? Or maybe a list of what you brought overseas if you went? Travel Tips Check a weather site for the temperatures to expect while you are there and pack the clothes you expect to need. Take the books that are important to you. Make sure you have the cosmetics you normally use or be open to try new brands. Not all brands that are sold in the US are sold in Ireland, not all brands sold in Ireland are sold in the US. If you have any specific food craves take a small amount of your favorite foods with you and check with the University if that is OK. Be aware that electric devices need a transformator or need to be autosensing. Most computers and laptops are autosensing, but it is sensible to check. Forgot nearly one important thing: If you are on birthcontrol or taking any other medication on a permanent base talk with your doctor and take the amount you will need for the whole time with you. Pharmaceuticals are definitely different from country to country and you don't want to risk anything in that department. Others My suggestion to you is to research the area you are going online. You want to dress to A) be comfortable B) blend in with the area (makes you a harder target for non american loving individuals) c) not be freezing i would carry only the essentials. 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of slacks or khakis, 2 types of shoes, 4 pairs undies, 2 short sleeve shirts, 2 long-sleeved tops, one jacket, and one overcoat. I麓m sure you won麓t have problems with your clothes, bc it麓s spring and summer in Ireland, so you don麓t need many warm things. I know life there is very expensive, so you should take all the things with you, you need for life. All the hings you would probably take with you if you go to vacation. hey its cold here in spring and summer sometime bring jeans jumpers and t_shirts. it can be warm but not like california or new york in the summer never that warm. what are you buyong here because its expensive if you need anymore info on ireland just email me i,ll be happy to help The weather here is very unpredictable, it's spring here now but it is a grey cold day whereas the other day the sun was beating down. Just bring a mixture of warm clothes(jumpers, jeans, one or two heavy jackets) and some light clothes (vest tops, a light jacket etc). Try bring as many clothes as you can, clothes can be expensive over here.You dont really have to bring essentials(underwear etc), you can buy them cheap enough in a store called Penneys, not the best quality clothes you can get(they have some nice things though), but when your on a budget its very handy. Yeah make sure you get into Pennies, if you are planning on buying stuff over here in Ireland- its great. You cant miss them there are in every irish town |
