Since Afghanistan does not have a coastline at all , it would require going through either Pakistan or Iran to access the Arabian Sea , which of course is a corner of the Indian Ocean. USSR invaded Afghanistan but would have found it difficult to convince Pakistan or Iran to allow access through their territory to the sea. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........!!!
