What is Africa to you? |
Travel Info What is Africa to the world? Travel Tips Africa is my home. A place where human beings are loved more than fame or anything in the world. An adage goes "We always want more human beings." A place full of poverty yet filled with loving people whose love can quench the thirst wealth, fame because human beings are more important to us than anything. I lived in two different societies:the middle-class and the lower-class societies. With all that i wanted at my disposal,i loved to be in the lower-class society because the people love you because you are a fellow human. The class means nothing to them, gathering around with a bunch of people, telling stories, singing and dancing make their day. The world is so blind about Africa. To the world, nothing good comes out of Africa. We do well in our beliefs and our culture, yet the world judges us by foreign cultures. The world has one description of us,poverty, but hide behind our oppressors to demean us. Our love for human beings led to our destruction, our pain, our sufferings; yet,you hold our heads up high and welcome everybody with open arms and make them feel like home. Even though,we have our own beliefs,we do not fight against foreign beliefs,we exist peacefully with people who divide us. All we want the world to know is that: if you want to know us,accept our shortcomings just like you do to your own. The world sees happiness in wealth,we don't! We're happy for the new lives brought into the world everyday. Others Starvation and AIDS are the first thing that comes to mind although they have beautiful beaches and an abundance of intriguing wildlife A Third World Continent that needs help with finding the essentials for all their people; food, shelter, and clothing. Africa is my heritage where everything started Africa is the mother land so Africa is the world to me and should be to you Im from South Africa so its home to me. I miss it loads! It has the most beautiful SAfaris and wild life and Cape Town is awesome! The people are totally amazing and I love it! To the world Africa is a thrid world country with "black" people {[not being racist}] who some people find disgusting. AIDS and Poverty are the main big challenges that Africa is facing up to this day. The continent is reach in minerals and resources. Diamond and Gold most from S.Africa. I think that the world also see's it as a corrupted continent because of whats happening in Darfur and Zimbabwe and it obvioulsy has corrupted leaders who refuse help from the UN. Africa is my birthplace. I am a White African and PROUD to be South African. I love the people in all their differences and I especially love the African Bush with the birds that SING and the animals, reptiles and sunsets. Our Black African sector are understandably seeking the best for themselves and we made the political mistake of giving a name to a seperatist and evil system. Both White and Black Africans are trying hard to resolve our differences but some people continually play the "Race Card" when they don't get their way. The Black African people are very sweet individually but they seem collectively to get a black cloud in their head as soon as any difficulties arise and they all seem to be of the opinion that "The Government" gave everything to the whites. This is patently not so as we had to work for everything we got from houses to cars etc and we paid for water, electricity and education. Current Black Africans have their hands out all the time expecting the whites to give them big jobs with BMW cars for no reason other than they are black. When they come in out of the jungle and learn to eat properly with a knife and fork, practice basic etiquette and stop urinating in public then they will be entering the 19th century with a ways to go to catch up on the 21st century. Africa is known as the dark continent and this is so true when one flies over the continent at night, the only lights one sees are from the larger cities or metropolitan areas unlike Europe and America where it is just one huge lit mass at night. Africa is in my blood and in my soul and I just could not live elsewhere with any happiness, despite the greater "safety" from intruders etc. That is Africa to me and to the world it is a sleeping giant which needs a prod to get it to wake up and catch up to modern technology so taken for granted elsewhere in the world.
