How old must you be in order to travel/stay to/in africa?

my friend and I, 16 & 17, would like to travel to africa to do charity work over the summer. is it possible to go without a guardian over 18? if so, are there any reccomended areas to stay? we prefer to work in an impoverished area with the poor, so please no tourist destinations . Thanks in advance! ; )

i suggest checking with the concerned embassies and high commisions. i agree with the first answerer about the age beeing 18 and above.

You must be over 18 years of age why dont you check with your embassy for the specific country you intends to visits
You must be at least 18yrs of age to travel alone by air to any country.
