Travel Info I have worked voluntary in Uganda this year, but would like to work with the big organizations Travel Tips Well, to work for big organisations you usually have to have a specific skill that is useful since a large part of their work is help build capacity of their local partners. Most require a college degree, if not a MA in a related field, and possibly knowing the foreign language. A lot of agency jobs are meant for the nationals of that country so having additional foreigners there working takes away from job opportunities that are often desperately limited in a given place. Volunteering can help develop one's skills to be more qualified; aid work has become more professional so it's not so easy to show up with no skills and still be hired (can happen, but usually in a drastic emergency) Source(s): I work in relief and development. www.reliefweb.int posts international relief vacancies.
