What is the policy of visas for non-european citizens ? For middle-eastern people ? For turkish people ? |
Travel Info I am a Turkish citizen, but actually I live in France for 32 years. I've never been in USA yet, and I would like to go there soon, for a short period ( as a tourist). Do you know how I can apply for that ? And what is the new US policy for that now ? Do they allow many Muslim people to enter the US ? And does it make a difference for us that I am France resident ? Could you give me some advice and infos? Thank you in advance Travel Tips Merhaba Fatih, As you know, I am Turkish, and I live in Kuwait and due to some special circumstances I'm very close with the American population there. As far as I know, after the 9/11 attracts, the visa procedures become quite difficult to Middle Eastern people and especially to the ones who come from a Muslim country or a mostly Muslim populated country. I hear rumors that if you have a Muslim name or last name- i.e- Muhammed - Ahmed etc- you may as well forget to achieve a visa. Remind you these are words of other people, not straight facts. Your French residency will probably help but you need to prepare very well for the meeting and questionnaire for obtaining a visa. I would personally suggest that you get an invitation letter from a US citizen friend and solid contact and residency details from him/her, together with his/her Social security number , addressed and send to the Embassy that you are going to apply. Hope this info helps Others Hello, just visit the US embassy's website and you will find most if not all of what you are asking. Or you could probably call them, but the websites are fairly detailed. Basically though since you are travelling on a Turkish passport you will need to apply for a 'tourist visa' and u will need bank statement, letter from your employer, anything that shows you have strong committment to returning to where u live after your trip...they assume rightly or wrongly that you WONT go back so its up to you to convince them that u will....hope this helps. You cannot be allowed to enter the USA, it is forbidden to people like you... GREEK-AMERICAN They won't allow you to enter, especially if you come to New York by plane... |
