Travel Info When is the best time to safari in Kenya and Tanzania for wildlife viewing? Travel Tips The best time to travel in Kenya or Tanzania is during the months of August & September. This is when you have the opportunity to see the greatest spectacle "The Great Migration" Animals especially the wildebeest move northwards from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania into Maasai Mara National in Kenya an extension of Serengeti. Its so amazing to watch lions hunting with ease, crocodiles feasting with glee etc the preditory instincts are so high during tis season. Am a travel consultant based in Nairobi and i have organized such tour for a number of clients several times. There were thousands of Wildebests, Zebra, Elephants and of course the big cats. spring and summer (late) seasons are the best for the entire Africa i would say.
