What do you know about a country called zambia? |
Travel Info Ever heard of a country called Zambia, my grandpa adopted a child there, well just to pay school and medical fees until this child reached the age of 18. Where is this country and what are the people like, someone told me it`s in the deepest jungles of Africa . Tell me what you know about it, thanks. Travel Tips Zambia is a very beautiful African country. Tourists like to go there for the amazing natural attractions such as Victoria Falls, and to go on wild animal safaris where they can see elephants, giraffes, and other wildlife. It was formerly known as Northern Rhodesia when it was colonized by Europeans. They gained their independence in 1962. (Southern Rhodesia became Zimbabwe). It is a very peaceful country where most of the population lives in urban areas. Source(s): http://www.zambiatourism.com/welcome.htm... Other Travel Tips Just to clarify, there are no jungles in Africa. Well, jungles do exist, but people don't live there: they don't hang from trees and they definitely don't walk around naked like national geographic wants you to believe. I often take offense when someone asks a question or makes a comment like that...it just screams ignorance. In this day of the internet, why would anyone say something like that; unless they were completely ignorant or just plain arrogant. To get back to the first stem of your question, zambia is located in the southern part of Africa; just west of zimbabwe and north of Botswana. If you still don't know where that is, I suggest you google it. Zambia is like any other country; only it is fraught with political and economic challenges. In the U.S, about 20% are low income people; now imagine a country with 80% of low-income people. That's what Zambia is like. But it's no big deal because they will pull through eventually It is a good thing that your grandpa decided to adopt a child from there. I am sure it will make a huge impact on the child's life. the above 2 answers are generally right. for further information use wikipedia. p.s. view of the vic falls from the zambian side is fantastic. |
