Are there really "women only" check out lines in the middle east? |
Travel Info What is the reason, if so? Travel Tips I haven't seen women-only lines in the mideast but I have seen them in India and Pakistan. It's very common for tickets -- movies, trains, etc. I didn't see it for grocery stores and that type of check out line. I loved getting my movie and train tickets faster than waiting in a very long line. In the mideast, what I have seen (Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, UAE, Qatar), is in some restaurants that there's a "family" section (males with families) and another section which usually has men only. Source(s): Worked in India and several countries in Mideast. Other Travel Tips I have been to the middle east many times and to many different places, I have never seen that. maybe it was in a place i have never been to. But I know its not in Jordan, Egypt, syria, UAE. and by the way, the middle east is a very beautiful place unlike what others say. I enjoy my trips to the middle east as much as I enjoy my trips to Europe. One more thing, what if there was a line for females only? I dont see anything wrong with it. It might be thier traditions or a part of their culture. I respect all people and all cultures. Good luck :) personal experience A friend told me this is the way it is in India, even two separate lines buying tickets into the movies! I've heard something similar. It's not uncommon for men to be separated from women in their culture, even in their places of worship. It's a cultural thing. Oh, and guys, Egypt is in Africa. |
