Travel Tips Considering that they provide the logistics support to the US military effort...they are targets and Al Kut is not a particuarly safe enclave in Iraq so NOT VERY. Al Kut is not in the Green Zone -- the Green Zone is a part of Baghdad and there are no other "Green Zones" in Iraq -- Al Kut is the province to the South East of Baghdad. Source(s): I worked in Baghdad and covered the five provinces south of Baghdad, including Al Kut. Other Travel Tips You are safe as long as you stay within the green zone (safe area) of the place you are staying at. You are never totally 100% safe, unless you're in a bunker all day and nite. Me, I work for KBR now. there is no safe place in iraq, have not you seen RICE, and other american officials,the leave the plane dressed with bullet proof vests I asked this question. Of course I know nowhere is safe: my husband is an Iraq veteran. But I have a relative who believed KBR's lies that it would be safe work then they sent him to al Kut rather than where they promised. I want to know HOW dangerous it is in this particular location. Thanks to anyone who has info. |
