How Do I Send Mail to Nigeria ? |
Travel Info I am trying to send letter to my fiance in Nigeria. But everytime i send the letter he never gets it. United States Postal Service is very reliable as all americans know, so is the problem in nigeria? Why hasnt he gotten my letters? what do i need to include in his address? This is his adress, 49, ajayi road oke-ira ogba, ikeja, lagos state How would I write that completely so he will get the letter? Thanks Travel Tips First, make sure you affix the correct postage. For a letter weighing less than 8 ounces the postage is 90 cents per ounce or partial ounce. Second, make sure it is addressed properly. Verify the address with your recipient to make sure it's correct. The USPS recommends that you write addresses in all uppercase letters. If possible, addresses should have no more than five lines. Addresses must be written in ink or typewritten. The last line of the address block area must include only the complete country name (no abbreviations) written in uppercase letters. After spending way too much time trying to figure out Nigerian addresses, I think I've got it narrowed down to the following 2 possible forms. You should try to verify with your fiance. Others Try sending it registered or via a courier (like DHL, FedEx). You may pay more but if you want to ensure it's delivered it might be worth it. I imagine your other letters get backed up with the local post in Nigeria. Or, send it by email (either type it or scan it).
