American and Egyptian marriage...?

Travel Info
I have known him for a few months... we consider ourselves friends but we are more than friends (but not intimately) and by American culture we may be considered as dating. However he is from Egypt and doesn't believe in dating, men and women can either be friends or get married there is no in between for him (because in Egyptian culture there is no dating). In discussing this issue with others more informed than myself, they told me if he was serious about me he would begin discussing marriage with me soon which we have. I guess I am wondering if it is possible for a man from an Egyptian and Muslim background and an American woman to have a true, serious, and successful marriage. I am really wondering from the perspective of Egyptians and Muslims whether they believe this is possible.

Travel Tips
I'm sure it can happen,I've two friends of mine,1 is American and she will be in Egypt in a couple of days to marry an Egyptian Muslim man,and an other friend from Australia, she and her man are both in Australia now and they will be in Egypt soon in order to get married.
wish you Good Luck Source(s): Friends!

Other Travel Tips
I'm an Arab-Canadian and here is my point of view:
If he has legal papers to live in the USA then go for it, other wise he might wanna use you. it's better to take more time to get to know him.
Make sure he loves u for urself not for anything else. If he loves you, u will build a happy family with him.
Arab men have no problem marrying a women from a different culture. I know many of them married to Canadian ladies and some of them had problems.
It's all about respecting one another
After all it's your call :) I wish you both the best
marry him
As many multicultural marriages , at the beginning it's going to be hard, but if there's love involved it'd be a successful marriage. My husband is Arab Muslim and I'm considered American for them (I'm south American, not American). At the beginning it was very hard I had to turn to Muslim from catholic, otherwise we couldn't get married. But definitively, I'm sure I wouldn't be happier with anybody else. He is very (and I mean very) respectful. He's a great husband, and a great father, but one thing, He understood since the beginning that I came from a Way different background, As long as he respects your decisions everything would be fine, but that is something that you have to explain and discuss with him before you take the big step. A Muslim that loves you for real, would want to marry you in a religious way, because there is nothing most important for Muslims than their religion. If he doesn't want to take you to the mosque to marry you, then be careful, you won't want to marry a visa hunter. Good luck!
