Western Union. Once she turn in the cash, they give her a number and her family can collect the money within minutes at any WU office in her country. Works beautifully.
Try Money Gram

Bank transfer
or through money changer check with any buddy from Myanmar how he sends
Depends what country you are in - I live & work between HK & Thailand, I recently made a bank transfer from HK to a bank in Myanmar (The Myanmar Investment & Commercial Bank) through UOB Singapore as the correspondent bank. The transfer had to be made in Singapore Dollars. Here is the exact instruction I received from HSBC:

"Thank you for your e-mail of 27 January 2007 regarding telegraphic transfers (TT) to Myanmar. I would like to explain the situation.

As an international financial institution, HSBC is subject to laws and regulations in various jurisdictions that require us to screen the parties to a transaction against certain lists compiled for public policy reasons, which includes United States sanctions against specify country e.g. Myanmar that require HSBC to screen, and sometimes reject, payments to this country. Therefore, the country "Myanmar" dose not appear in the pull down menu of country for TTs submitted via HSBC Internet Banking.

Nevertheless, you can mail us a written instruction to perform such TT in Euro by debiting your PowerVantage HKD account. Please note that, under the restriction of the applicable laws and regulations, a TT to Myanmar in US Dollars, pound/sterling or Hong Kong Dollars is unavailable. Furthermore, please do not instruct us to debit the funds from your PowerVantage USD account for the TT.

You can fill in the "Telegraphic Transfer Application Form" for the transaction. The form can be downloaded on our website www.hsbc.com.hk by clicking [ Commercial ] (in the left hand column) - [ Form Download Centre ] (in the left hand column) - [ Account Services Forms ] (under [ Form Download Centre ] ) - [ Making Payments ].

Furthermore, we will require the beneficiary's correspondent bank for remitting the funds to Myanmar. Please provide the correspondent bank's full details of the beneficiary bank so that our correspondent bank or we could go through their correspondent bank to pay the funds to the beneficiary bank accordingly. You can first contact your beneficiary/beneficiary bank to obtain their correspondent bank's information for remittance from HSBC Hong Kong to them.

After completion of the form, please sign the form with your signature corresponding to that held in our records and then return it by post to the following address:

HSBC Payment Services Department
HSBC Centre
1 Sham Mong Road
Kowloon
Hong Kong

Our service fee for each TT submitted by mail is HK$180. This fee has not included any overseas charges. After receiving your instruction, we will process it within two working days. However, the time taken for the beneficiary to receive the funds depends largely on the practice of the receiving bank.

If you have further questions, please call our PowerVantage Customer Service Hotline on [852] 2748 8333.

I hope I have clarified the matter and appreciate your understanding. "
