China vs. Japan? |
Travel Info I lived in China for almost a year and it was an OK experience. I have a friend that lives in Fukuoka, Japan and am thinking about going to visit her soon. Does anyone have any comparisons between China and Japan or the Chinese and Japanese? Travel Tips -Japan is quite a bit more expensive than China, so make sure to bring enough money. -Many people say that the Japanese are more polite than the Chinese, but I think that Chinese people are simply more direct than Japanese and more apt to telling you their opinions. The Japanese will offer opinions, but it is usually very subtle, and if their opinion is negative, they are more likely to sugar coat it, sometimes to the degree that you cannot tell that their opinion is negative. -The cultures of Japan and China are quite different, but you may notice that the basic values of both nations are the same (or similar), due to Taoist, Buddhist, and Confucian influences in Japan from China. If you liked China, and you go to Japan with an open mind, I think you will also enjoy it. Others My friends will always say that Japan is more expensive than China. Everything costs more in Japan. |
