Travel Info Is it true Singaporeans do not want to do tough/hard works and foreigners (engineers/workers) get chances ? Travel Tips This sort of generalisation isn't very productive. As in all economies, scarcity plays an important part in how people choose their vocations. In Singapore, there are job opportunities galore so why should a Singaporean pick a job that requires menial work when he/she can easily be employed in an arguably less strenuous job in the service sector that pays better? Switch your focus to China or India and you can see that with the vast labour pool, there is considerably less scarcity in human capital. Many rural folk will take up menial vocations like construction work simply to escape the grinding poverty of the countryside. Others I think any country that is highly educated doesn't do the manual work. The more educated one is they usually hire someone that isn't as educatedd to do the manual labour. Most Singaporeans are hard working people in whatever they do. Not really. |
