I would say India, just because of the amazing variety of things to see and the vibrancy of the place - but I also love China, Hong Kong in particular.
I pick the Republic of Singapore. It is sometimes knicknamed "Asia in a tea cup". This is because it is a small island country that has people from different ethnic cultures all living in one country and each ethnic group has its own culture unique to itself and yet they all live together as one nation. The major cultures there are Chinese, Malay and Indian, and other cultures in minorities. I consider it a gourmet's paradise because you have such a variety of food to choose from, from the various ethnic groups. Each group has its own special dishes. It is a very modern city with a rich History. It used to be a British colony and later became an independent nation. It has fun places like museums, the zoo , a large bird park, an interesting island called Sentosa, just to name a few places of interest. Almost everyone can speak English so it would not be difficult to get around.
I was originally from Singapore till I got married to a foreigner and emigrated. I still miss the food there.
Vietnam should be the top destination on eveyone's list. It is exotic, friendly, safe and a great place to visit. It has ancient cities, beautiful beaches, fantastic food, friendly people, and the most unbelieveable scenery. Destination number one. Cheers.
