Best way to spend 18 days in................? |
Travel Info the Far East. I've got 18 days to spend in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Can anyone recommend some beautiful scenery out there I mustn't miss and which cities to devote my limited time to? And what of a train trip from Hanoi to Saigon? Is it worth it? Many thanks.... Travel Tips I would spend my time in Vietnam. If you start in Hanoi I would sure go around the city. It is Safe, many monuments, ancient streets, beautiful lakes, good food and friendly people. At least a day trip to Halong Bay for a short cruise. The train from Hanoi to SaiGon is fun, make sure you get an A/C 4 compartment berth. Stop at least in Hue for a couple days. The Ancient capitol of Vietnam. The Kings fancy tombs, Citadel, Palace, the Perfume River and the Old Pagoda's. Great Food specialities, friendliest of people, Safe reasonable places to stay make Hue my favorite of all places to visit. SaiGon is a big city with loads of good shopping. It can be presents or clothing. Custom dresses and suits can be sewn in a day. A short trip south of SaiGon is the Makong River. You could spend a day or two there easily. Hope you enjoy your trip, we will be back in Vietnam in 8 days, ya. cheers. Others pataya beach Angkor Wat of course Book of wat My stepdaughter went travelling around this area, can`t tell you much but she did go to The Killing Fields in cambodia and although she found it upsetting she said it is a must. She also went to some Tea Plantations which she thoroughly enjoyed. Hope you have a great trip. Someone else has sauggested Ankor Watt, my stepdaughter also went here, i have seen some amazing pictures she took. |
