Hong kong: how does it maintain 75% of its area as countryside when it has only 1099km2 area and 8 mil ppl? |
Travel Info Im a nature lover and im just very impressed on how does hongkong do that? I live in singapore and we have very few natural places where i can appreciate the flora and fauna... Travel Tips cos they have super tall residentials, i went there a couple years back and they had this 60+ storey residential buildings!! CRAZY TALK!! hahaha They also have a lot of natural reserves in the mountainous area.. oh yeah that's prolly why they can have so much countryside space cos it's really hilly and they cannot do much on them. Have been having projects like landfills to get more flat lands. Oh, and there are tons of mini islands and i guess it won't be very cost effective to develop those areas. Source(s): been there, lived there and travelled around :'D Other Travel Tips All that countryside is nearly vertical. I think most of the 75% is countryside because it is uninhabitable. HK have tons of skyscrapers. I use to live there in a building with 38 floors. Each floor contains 16 families. coz most people live in small flat. like me....I live in a abt 500 feet apt with my family (5 of us including me). and our building has 30 floors. can u imagine.... |
