Transit at CKS Airport, Taiwan. Any suggestions ? |
Travel Info I will be flying to Honolulu (Hawaii) from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) by China Airline. Unfortunately, will have a long layover in CKS Airport, Taiwan ~ abt 18 hrs. Has anyone experience similar situation like mine ? What did you do to past time ? Thanks. Travel Tips Wow... 18hr layover is crazy! Depending on the time of when you arrive, you can easily take a airport bus to Taipei to do some exploring. It takes about 1hr and only costs around $4 USD... assuming your luggage is checked in already this would be an easy little side trip (if you're not too tired) into town. You can take one of the the "Evergreen Bus" or "Toward You Bus" to one of the major MRT stations (subway) or hotels (liked the area around the Hyatt) then it's easy for you to explore, eat, shop etc for quite a few hours... Just hop on the same bus back to the airport about 3 hrs before your flight leaves and you'll be fine... you should easily have 8-10 hrs to explore. Other Travel Tips Had the same experience but mine was from Kuala Lumpur-Taipei-San Francisco. Most of the shops in CKS will be closed after midnight. Bought with me 2 novels, a sleeping bag, my MP3 player and some snacks to past my time till morning. When the shops open in the morning, had a slow breakfast and take a slow stroll ie window shopping around the airport. But bear in mind that CKS is not that big. Good luck and have a safe journey.
