Where to go, What to do & How's the shopping in northern, central Jakarta? |
Travel Info I'll be staying at the Sheraton Media Hotel & Tower in Northern Jakarta for about a week & will be going to the Jakarta International Expo for the Asia Choir games in November. I'm wondering what else can I do in Jakarta(first trip there). Where's the good food, good shopping & fun locations??? Travel Tips shopping at : 1. itc mangga dua ( huge indoor shopping market, north jakarta ) 2. pasar baru market ( north jakarta ) 3. pasaraya blok m ( its a must shopping centre for tourist as they have soo many handycraft and nice clothing,shoes,bags,etc , @ south jakarta ) 4. Plaza senayan ( up market shopping centre , central jakarta ) 5. sogo ( up market shopping centre , central jakarta ) 6. mall ambassador ( dvd , central jakarta ) dinning out at : 1.batavia cafe ( north jakarta , its a must visit traditional indonesian resto ) 2. la na thai ( central jakarta , nice food n nice design ) night out : 1. bats ( shangrilla hotel , central jakarta ) live music 2. tiga puluh ( le meridien hotel ,central jakarta ), live music 3. hard rock cafe ( central jakarta ) live music 4. CJ's ( hotel mulia,central jakarta ) live music 5. jalan jaksa ( cheap beers , backpackers area ) note : 1. be carefull PICK POCKETS !! at the markets 2. only use the taxi from your hotel or pick " BLUE BIRD " taxi ONLY !! |
